On June 11, 2025, GREENCODE DAY was held at the Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka as the final event of the Erasmus+ project “Building an Eco-Friendly Future with Robots – GREENCODE” (2023-1-LV01-KA220- HED-000157623).
The aim of the project is to strengthen the competencies of students—future early childhood educators—for developing environmentally friendly topics and algorithmic thinking through the use of robotics in early and preschool education via the elective course Encouraging Algorithmic Thinking.

During the event, the project results were presented: teaching materials for the undergraduate course, a manual, an activity book, lesson plans, video materials, and a card game.
The results were presented by Sanja Vranić and Jasminka Mezak, members of the Greencode team from the Faculty of Teacher Education. As good examples of practice aligned with the themes of the Greencode project, preschool teachers Jasmina Puž (DV Viškovo) and Snježana Horvat (DV Rijeka-CPO Potok-PPO Podmurvice) shared their work.

After that, third-year undergraduate students of Early and Preschool Education—Silvia Baričević, Ivona Stojšić, and Tea Sedić—presented their projects developed as part of the pilot course. Finally, participants had the opportunity to practically try working with robots and the game that was designed and created as one of the project results.
